OpusDent Laser
OpusDent Laser. ProDental has become one of the first dental practices in the area to incorporate an OpusDuo Dual Wavelength Laser System from OpusDent into its dental practice. Lasers have become proven tools for superior patient care in all medical fields. ProDental has recently added this new dental capability to enhance the care we provide our patients.
Our new laser can provide our patients with the following benefits:
Comfort: Since laser light is used to perform the dental procedure, you’ll feel more comfortable and relaxed in the dental chair without the sound of the drill. Also, you will feel no pain from the drill’s vibration or heat generation.
Less Anesthesia: For many of our patients, the best part of laser dentistry may be –no more needles! For routine appointments or surgery, the need for anesthesia may be reduced or even eliminated.
Reduced Bleeding: Bleeding is minimized and the need for sutures is all but eliminated. Lasers also ensure sterilization of the treatment site.
Short and Comfortable Healing: Post-operative pain discomfort and swelling are minimized, as laser accuracy assures minimal trauma to nearby tissue, and faster overall recovery.
Our new laser can be used for oral surgery, periodontal treatment, cavity preparation, cosmetics and tooth whitening. In cavity preparation, the laser allows our dentists to precisely and selectively remove decaying tissue, leaving healthy tooth structure intact. In periodontal therapy the laser cleans and debrides periodontal pockets and reduces inflammation by eliminating the bacteria inside with little or no post-operative pain. In Crown and Bridge preparation the laser gently and accurately removed gum tissue with minimal bleeding. This allows for perfect crown impressions and eliminates the need for multiple visits. In cosmetic re-contouring the laser gently corrects an uneven or “gummy” smile. The laser can also be used in Oral Lesion treatment. It can offer instant relief from canker sores, aphthous ulcers and herpetic lesions, reducing pain and post-op sensitivity.
